Skincare Benefits of Rose

Rose is an iconic symbol of beauty and love. They are stunning to look at and their aroma is absolutely intoxicating. They don't just make excellent perfume scents, they can do wonderful things for our skin too. 

That’s why rose isn’t just my favorite flower, it’s also one of my favorite skincare ingredients and these are the reasons:

It is great for dry skin because the sugars and natural oils found in rose petals trap moisture in skin, making it look smoother and softer just like the beautiful petals themselves.

It is also great for oily skin because it can help control excess oil production due to its ability to balance out moisture and hydration of the skin. It increases water content in the skin as opposed to the level of the oils; there are also astringent properties in roses that help lift dirt and oil from the skin to help it maintain its natural pH balance. That means rose is actually beneficial for all skin types.

The antioxidants that can be found in roses help strengthen skin cells, regenerate skin tissues and neutralize free radicals.
Aside from being filled with antioxidants, rose has also vitamin A and C that help reduce the appearance of age spots on the skin and aid with collagen production.

  • It has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

It can soothe skin inflammation including rosacea, treat acne, prevent and fight off infection.
