Grab Holdings Inc., commonly known as Grab, is a multinational ride-hailing company based in Singapore. The company offers a range of services, including transport, on-demand delivery, consumer and financial services on a single mobile platform.

GrabExpress
Grab also took it further by launching the GrabExpress–a premium door-to-door delivery service for customers in Metro Manila.

GrabExpress also offers GrabAssistant and Cash on Delivery (Beta). GrabAssistant allows you to ask the driver to buy something for you or queue in line; while Cash on Delivery (Beta) enables the rider to collect the item from you, deliver it to the recipient to collect the payment, and return to you with the cash collected.

What makes it different from other courier services is that GrabExpress tracks deliveries real time–not to mention that parcels are insured for up to Php 50,000. You can send items like documents, parcels, and gifts to your loved ones.

Base fare for GrabExpress is currently at Php 80, with most reliable coverage hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. during Mondays to Saturdays. Meanwhile, GrabAssistant has a base fare of Php 99, with a maximum of Php 1000 amount per booking; while cash on Delivery has a maximum value of Php 50,000, with size of up to 40 x 40 x 30 cm and 20 kgs.

How it works: 

1. Open your Grab mobile application, and click Delivery from the menu.
2. Enter the pick up point at the Meet me at and drop off point at the Deliver to section.
3. Choose from GrabExpress, Cash on Delivery (Beta), or GrabAssistant.
4. Grab will then assign you to a rider after you confirm.
5. Wait for your rider to pick up your parcel, and track them through the map provided in the app.
6. Upon arrival, the rider will take a photo of your parcel as a proof of pick up. Ask for a copy of your Waybill, which is required in cases of lost or damaged items.
7. Share your ride with your recipient so you can track your parcel together.

Remember to type in important notes at the short description section in case you have special requests. It is also your duty to pack your parcel well for safe delivery.

GrabExpress can be paid via cash on delivery, credit or debit card, as well as GrabPay.

Angkas Padala is their own attempt at a package delivery service, which should come in handy during the holiday season that has managed to completely crush our soul in its labyrinthine traffic flow.

 The service is available first in Metro Manila and Cebu, and is accessible via the Angkas app that’s available on either Google Play or iTunes.

Angkas Padala is a roadside delivery service, which means both sender and recipient will have to meet the driver outside to give and receive items. You can track the package’s progress through the app, and the base fare for the service is pretty reasonable: Php 50 for Manila and Php 20 for Cebu. 

 There are limitations to the service though, namely the size of the items being sent. Max weight for items to be sent cannot exceed 10 kilos, and must be 43cm x 38cm x 24cm in size. All items sent are insured up to Php 3,000.

1. Tap the “Book” button. The Angkas app would then start searching for available Angkas drivers to accept your Angkas padala request.
2. When the Angkas driver gets to your location give him the package to be delivered and settle the fees. Note that the fee must be paid directly to the Angkas driver.
3. Wait for the delivery to be completed.

 Kindly ensure these rules are followed when shipping certain items:

• Let us know it’s fragile! Label all fragile items with a Fragile sticker, or clearly write “Fragile” on the exterior packaging. Please also give verbal instructions to our Delivery Ninjas at the time of the pickup, to ensure that we immediately know to take precautions.
• Use protective material. Wrap ceramics, glass bottles, and other fragile items in protective material such as bubble wrap and/or foam casing.
• When shipping bottled liquids… Apart from using bubble wrap to protect the bottle, please place bottles into sealed plastic bags to prevent spillage.
• For irregularly sized items… Encase stacked or irregularly sized packages inside a larger box, and fill up empty areas of the box by using balled up newspaper or other material.
• When shipping clothing… If using a carton box to ship clothing or textiles, please place the item in plastic bags before inserting the item into the box.
• When shipping electronics... Please ensure that electronic devices are powered off. Detach the batteries when possible.
