New Moms Would Adore These Beauty Products

Moms are incredibly powerful, caring, and beautiful, and they deserve some pampering. If you're a new mommy, here are some items that may help you feel more at ease, nourished, and unique during this sleepless (yet wonderful) stage of life!

I am not a mother (yet), but I am in a stage of life where first-time moms and new-born moms are everywhere. Although each Mom's experience is unique, I believe it's safe to say that sleeplessness and fatigue are fairly universal during those first few months!

This prompted me to consider the beauty products that a mother with a newborn would adore. I considered time constraints, exhaustion, and the everyday life of a Mom. Additionally, I checked in with my Mom friends to see what they wished they had and used while their babies were fresh out of the oven.

Hand cream that nourishes

Moms regularly wash their hands due to the frequent nappy change, spit-up washing, and preparation for bottle, breast-feeding, or pumping. This results in dry, irritated palms. A nourishing hand cream that absorbs easily into the skin will help keep your hands warm, not just for your own comfort, but also for the skin of your precious newborn!

Lip Balms

Momma's lips need to be smooth for all those baby kisses! Additionally, sleepless nights and general exhaustion seem to be associated with dry lips. A gentle and nourishing lip balm is simple to apply and provides a touch of comfort and pampering without the hassle of applying makeup or following an extensive skincare routine.

Dry shampoo

After all, I don't even have children and fail to wash my hair as much as I can (due to my freakin' laziness). I can't imagine how difficult it will be for a new Mommy to schedule time for a comprehensive shampoo session. Welcome to the world of dry shampoo! To feel a bit more refreshed and remove greasiness at the roots, spray a dry shampoo into the roots and mid-lengths, rub it in, and go. This is ideal if you're leaving for doctor's appointments or if you're expecting friends and family to come over and enjoy your precious little baby creation.

Tinted moisturizer

A tinted moisturizer is perfect for hydrating the skin while also balancing out the skin tone and imparting a gentle glow to the complexion (when using a dewy or satin formula). This is ideal for new Moms who want a full-glam face but are unable to afford it at the moment. When you're about to leave the house and want to feel more like yourself, a tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara, and a touch of multi-tasking color on the lips and cheeks will suffice.

Under-eye concealer

Sleepless nights equal dark circles under the eyes. I realize this sounds odd, but I genuinely enjoy the look of darkness around the eyes on many women; I believe it creates a moody and interesting look on the face (am I weird? Perhaps). If, on the other hand, you or your Mommy friend feel more like yourself (and more awake) after concealing those dark bags, a simple and hydrating under-eye concealer should be prominent on the bathroom counter.

Multi-tasking lip/cheek

I'm confident that when I become a mother in the near future, I will retain my makeup-obsessed self and will continue to crave the pop of color. I will not, however, be standing in front of the mirror contouring, layering various blush colors, and applying 12 different lip items as is customary. What is the answer? A multi-purpose, nourishing (drink a glass of water whenever I say "nourishing") color balm. Simply dab it onto the lips and massage it onto the cheeks.

Hydrating shower cream

A new mother who is sleep deprived is unlikely to have the time or resources to apply a full-body moisturizing cream. Nonetheless, she values and deserves hydrated skin. Combine the two and hydrate in the shower (when you get the opportunity to enjoy one!). No need to wait for an in-shower hydrating cream to soak in; it washes off instantly. Enter, slather it on, rinse it off, and exit.
